Our Story

A disabled veteran's commitment to ensuring no one who served is left behind.

How It Started

Born from Service, Driven by Purpose

As a disabled veteran, our founder served this country with dignity. But one idea stuck throughout his military career and transition into civilian life: the belief that no man or woman should be left behind when it comes to serving in our military.

Over the years since leaving the military, witnessing the growing number of homeless veterans living on the streets became deeply troubling. The reality that those who served our nation were being overlooked while struggling to access the benefits they earned demanded action.

Bigg Chico Cares was created to turn the tide: to get homeless veterans off the streets by connecting them with the resources that will allow them access to the benefits they earned as service members, and to help fellow disabled veterans receive the care they need.

The mission quickly expanded beyond veterans to include underprivileged youth. By helping young people access educational assistance, jobs, and mentorship, we create positive opportunities for their futures too.
